I'm trying to add video clips to a iPad keynote presention. I know that for some reason you can only do it threw iPhoto. Is there any other way you might know of? If not how do you add video/movies to iPhoto?

Because the iPad has a different resolution so the app has to be programmer for the iPhone. However, universal apps are the same code base with the different resolution and UI information for the appropriate device. So yes, any application can be ran on both devices with minimal changes required.

I have imovie 11. I filmed a home video. I imported to imovie and edited. Then, when i export it, it says it is a "protected m4v file"... what gives? Why protected?

What I mean is that people captured as part of the "war on terrorism" should be treat as you would treat prisoners of war and should not be tortured under any circumstances.
But the whole point is that in a "regular" war, we are far more likely to capture regular grunts or low level officers who have limited intelligence to provide.
Don't you think capturing KSM, who was one of the leaders of Al Qaeda is very different ? The guy obviously knows a great deal, and obviously will not easily divulge that information.

Ugh, now we get HDCP. Reminds me of that DIVX thing they pushed back in the day. Every time new stuff comes along, they try and DRM the crap out of it. Good thing DIVX went down in flames.
PS: DIVX is not the codec for video, it was a "self-destructing" DVD variant.

I'm with both sides on this argument.
Not the best Keynote I've ever seen, but then again, with such an impressive device like the iPhone (and I think most people are agreed on that), it would have been a very long Keynote if Steve had demo'd Leopard features as well. :rolleyes:
I'm gonna give them the benefit of the doubt, and wait for an announcement of another 'special event' in the near future. :) Hope so anyway.
Kind of a bitter-sweet day for me.

Yeah Isilon stank, had to deal with them at two facilities, they have now both moved on (BlueArc/GPFS) and won`t be going back, support was atrocious, and their updates had a nasty habit of changing base functionality.
They weren`t even that competitive. EMC must have sweetened that deal.
Ask them about the complete re-write of their meta-data server.

$75 for a website template?? Doesn't sound like your charging nearly enough money. That should be closer to $400 IMO.
When I pay for logo design or a website, I pay by the job. I usually get a quote before we begin. I paid $100 for a logo design.

I guess I have to look at as many pricing sources as possible and and try to distill some figures? I have the "Graphic Artist Guild" handbook, but those prices are through the roof. I imagine they're for seasoned professionals working for major clients. Thanks again!

well here is the damage.
I cant get the old paste off the gpu as its baked on hard! I've managed to clean the heatsink of the remnants though.
Will applying a layer to the the GPU be enough? Will the remaining contact area of new paste be effective or is it FUBAR?
Rubbing alcohol (isopropyl) and qtips can't get more of the paste off? I've read about people using a razor blade before to scrape it off, or use acetone, or even a hair dryer. You might wait for someone with actual experience removing the old stubborn stuff to post a reply, I'm just repeating what I've read elsewhere.

I've been a very satisfied customer of .Mac since its inception. I receive zero spam e-mails and I am delighted with the ability to create aliases. On top of that there is no advertising at all. I also have a couple of other web-mail accounts and they get zillions of spam messages even with their respective anti-spam filters turned on. I think that this update adds a little bit more polish on an already decent offering. I do agree with a previous poster that the iCal integration needs some work.

That's true, I have received VERY little spam, and what i do receive gets put right into junk mail. I have 2 to 3 email addresses forwarded to my .mac account (those 2 to 3 do receive spam) but i still get very little in my Mail.app or webmail. good point, because if anyone has ever used hotmail, that crap gets annoying fast.

Hi I'm looking for the best and most compatible dvd burner to purchase that works with macs and Pc's. Does anyone know of or have any recommendations for this. I'd prefer it was a dual layer one.
